The modular insightfabric connects machines, sensors and applications. Its components acquire, process and store production data on site and in the cloud. Panels and boards use it directly on the shop floor, while Platform Applications also work across sites. Scope and expansion are tailored to your foundry and can grow step by step.
Data acquisition and assets
The components in detail
Sensors
Sensors capture physical quantities at the machine, in the process and in peripheral equipment. The measurement range and installation point depend on your question.
Role and contribution · Examples
Measure, for example, temperature, pressure, flow and energy
Select measurement points, for example on machines, furnaces, cooling circuits and peripherals
Process signals through suitable interfaces with the Data Connector
Data Connector
The Data Connector integrates sensors and additional interfaces. It processes and aggregates signals for downstream data use.
Role and contribution · Examples
For example, 4–20 mA and 0–10 V analogue signals, temperature and energy measurement
Cycle-based acquisition and calculated measurement values
Can also be used independently with other data systems
Interfaces
Interfaces capture available data from machine controls and connected devices. Extensions add capabilities to match the equipment.
Role and contribution · Examples
Include machines and peripherals in data acquisition
Structure repeated device connections using templates
Review available signals and customer-specific prerequisites together
Data Hub
The Data Hub is a hardware system delivered ready for operation in a control cabinet. An industrial PC, power supply and further components are assembled for local operation of the solution.
Role and contribution · Examples
Industrial PC in an actively ventilated control cabinet with its own power supply
Labelled components, circuit diagram and documents for commissioning and maintenance
Extensions as needed, such as additional components or an optional UPS
Local Storage
Local Storage provides the local backend and its interface components. It acquires, connects and processes data on site using the same structure as in the cloud.
Role and contribution · Examples
Buffer data and catch up after a cloud connection interruption
Provide enriched data and advanced functions for panels and boards
Represent devices, tools, periods and variables in a shared data model
Cloud Storage
Cloud Storage provides the central backend in private customer instances. It brings connected data together for web applications and analysis across sites.
Role and contribution · Examples
Represent one or more plants in shared or separate instance structures
Account for site-specific time zones and task-based access rights
Use current and historical data on the move and across sites
Data Storage
Data Storage provides machine settings files for Machine Settings Management. Integration is aligned with the existing machine connection.
Role and contribution · Examples
Make settings files available for management
Combine with Machine Settings Management
Align storage and access with the machine environment
